A Humble Request

Ralph and Sara have four beautiful girls. The oldest two, Emily and Sophia, are growing and learning like most kids their age, but both Rachel and Janneke have a number of physical and developmental hurdles that have affected their whole family.

Both Rachel and Janneke have an undiagnosed syndrome; they are similar to each other but unique compared to others. They are unable to eat, speak (beyond a few indefinite sounds), roll over, walk… in short, their disabilities affect all aspects of their daily life, so geneticists refer to the girls as globally developmentally delayed. The girls communicate with smiles and with their eyes, yet we are not certain how much they can comprehend or understand. With the help of nurses, caregivers, and medical equipment, both girls enjoy a normalcy that would otherwise be impossible to have.

We need your help. To transport the family safely, Ralph and Sara need a van that can accommodate two wheelchairs, two caregivers, two parents, and two awesome older sisters. They also require a van that safely prevents further physical stress and injury for those who daily lift and transfer the girls for transportation.

It’s been said before, “If there’s anything we can do to help…” Well, now Sara and Ralph need help. Big help. They need a big van.

Ralph and Sara are currently appealing to various sources for support with installing ceiling tracking in the home, beds to accommodate ceiling tracking, and other home modifications.

There are only so many charities and sources of funding that a family can use, so to support the family in covering the cost of a van, we are appealing to the very blessed circle of friends, friends-of-friends, and family of Ralph and Sara, Emily, Sophia, Rachel, and Janneke Pot.
